Federal Stimulus Package Preparedness Initiative

To obtain health information technology stimulus money in 2011, practices must be “meaningful” health information technology/health information exchange (HIT/HIE) adopters. Rural Health Partnership (RHP) wants its members to have the opportunity to draw down these funds using the most economical and pleasant way for their facilities.

To do so, James Randolph of Carolina Consulting Solutions (an RHP Board member and HIT consultant) walked members through RHP’s Federal Stimulus Package Readiness Review. Based on the review results and the directives of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), RHP will develop a service area wide HIT implementation plan that will accommodate differing practice types and degrees of practice readiness.
