Leigh Wilsey of the North Central Florida Health Care Coalition (NCFHCC) will provide a brief information session detailing the NCFHCC’s May med surge exercise and calling for interested and impacted parties to participate.  The Medical Surge Response Exercise (MRSE) is an exercise that surges EMS and hospitals by 10% of the total hospital beds in the region. For the North Central Healthcare Coalition, the requirement is 175 patients. This is a tabletop exercise with functional components. All participants gather in tabletop format, with hospitals making calls to plan for discharging, transporting, and receiving patients from a MCI. The scenario incudes MCI events occurring in Suwannee and Alachua counties that generate more than 175 patients needing transport and treatment.  The NCFHCC  invites and encourages participation from all county EM, EMS, hospitals, and Public Health partners.
