Open Enrollment for the Health Insurance Marketplace opens on November 15, 2014 with coverage starting as early as January 1, 2015. If you are already enrolled in a plan through the Marketplace from the previous year, you have the opportunity to renew the same plan or pick a different plan for the upcoming year.

Before Open Enrollment begins again on November 15, it is possible to buy insurance through the Marketplace if you experience a qualifying life event such as marriage, divorce, birth or adoption of a child, or loss of job. There is no limited enrollment period for Medicaid or the Children’s Health Insurance Program (known as Florida KidCare), as those programs have open enrollment year round.

WellFlorida Council has multiple Health Insurance Marketplace Navigators available to help guide North Central Floridians through the enrollment process. Since open enrollment, nearly 7,000 residents in our area have been reached by our Navigators. Navigators are available to answer questions and to help you weigh coverage options, select the best plan for you and enroll in the Marketplace.

Navigators can be reached by phone and at different enrollment events in North Central Florida. To contact a Navigator in your area, visit http://ncfnavigators.org/.
