North Central Florida Healthcare Guide has been released

Heritage Publishing, Inc. has released its North Central Florida Healthcare Guide, a comprehensive directory that is an excellent source for health information. The guide contains a listing of physicians by specialty, area hospitals and ancillary healthcare providers and services in Alachua, Columbia, Dixie, Gilchrist, Marion, Putnam, Suwanee and Union Counties.

The guide also intends to inform and empower by exploring how technology is being utilized in medicine through telehealth – the use of healthcare services and information through telecommunication and technology. Other featured articles include information about avant-garde physicians, healthcare related legislation and cutting edge technology.

Healthcare facts and statistics, hospital discharge figures, HMO enrollment and HMO plans – as of Dec. 31, 2013 – in both Florida and North Central Florida have been provided by WellFlorida Council through detailed, easy-to-understand charts, which can be seen on pages 164-165. Some of the facts include the leading causes of death (cancer: 4,913), resident births (20,123) and hospital licensed beds (4,724) in North Central Florida.
