WellFlorida Council was selected as a winner in the 29th annual National Health Information Awards. This program recognizes the nation’s best consumer health information programs and materials.

The Nurse-Family Partnership® and NAS Campaign received a Merit Award for Consumer Decision Making Information. The campaign consisted of the publication More Hope, cards, display banners and videos. Jill Dygert of WellFlorida provided creative direction and design for the campaign. Videos were created by Gordon Yurk of Emergent Video. More Hope was adapted and authored by Healthy Start Coalition of Hillsborough County and partners.

Nurse-Family Partnership® is a program and a national model for keeping children healthy and safe, and improving the lives of moms and babies. The focus of WellFlorida’s Nurse-Family Partnership® is to provide evidence-based home visiting and outreach services for at-risk pregnant women (and/or their partners and families) using substances and infants affected by substances. The program is overseen by Florida Healthy Start, Central and North Central Florida Coalitions.

“We were delighted to participate in the National Health Information Awards program and were honored to be selected as a winner,” said Jeff Feller, WellFlorida Council CEO.

WellFlorida is the local health council for 16 counties in North Central Florida and statewide consultants for health causes. The nonprofit manages local, state and federally funded programs, special projects and other nonprofits throughout the region that support their mission and causes—maternal and infant health, HIV/AIDS care, children’s safety and improving access to healthcare, especially in rural communities.

The awards program is coordinated by the Health Information Resource Center, a national clearinghouse for consumer health information programs and materials.
