Counties include: Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Columbia, Dixie, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Lafayette, Levy, Madison, Suwannee, Taylor, Union. Note that these lists are not all inclusive and there are many local efforts being offered in each community.

A giant inflatable walk-through colon is the star of recent local health fairs, hospital exhibits and other events throughout North Central Florida. The Giant Inflatable Colon was purchased by North Central Florida Cancer Control Collaborative (NCFCCC) and WellFlorida Council with funding from the Community Implementation Grant from University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. NCFCCC and WellFlorida’s Community Initiatives team walk participants through the colon and teach them about colorectal cancer and why screening is important. Three leading Florida academic cancer centers – Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami Health System, Moffitt Cancer Center and the University of Florida Health Cancer Center – have joined to fund thousands of dollars for four projects statewide to help people detect and treat cancer early.
