Health Insurance Marketplace Navigators from WellFlorida Council will be providing free enrollment assistance to help individuals and families enroll or re-enroll in health insurance prior to the Jan. 31 deadline. The public is invited to attend an Open Enrollment event on Saturday, Jan. 30 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Luther Callaway Public Library, 104 NE 3rd St. in Chiefland.

Open enrollment for the Health Insurance Marketplace has been underway since Nov. 1 and ends Jan. 31. If you wish to enroll in health coverage for the year, you must pick a health plan on Healthcare.gov before the end of the month or you may face financial penalties.

Health Insurance Marketplace Navigators from WellFlorida Council are providing free enrollment assistance to help individuals and families enroll or re-enroll in health insurance prior to the Jan. 31 deadline. Consumers can search for enrollment events on NCFNavigators.org or contact a Navigator in North Central Florida by calling 352-299-0380.

Navigators are trained and certified to provide free, unbiased help to explain insurance options and guide consumers through the enrollment process.

A belief that children in Alachua County might not be getting the care they need because of a fragmented system has sparked the County Commission to action.
Commissioners gave the thumbs up Tuesday to a $47,250 contract with WellFlorida Council Inc. to conduct a children services needs assessment.
