The youth in rural communities face various challenges related to health and safety. The North Central Florida Healthcare Coalition (NCFHCC) coordinates preparedness and resilience through all sectors of the healthcare system. The primary goal of NCFHCC is to better prepare communities in the event of catastrophic events (i.e. natural disasters, man-made disasters, emergencies, etc.)

The general membership of NCFHCC includes public, private and governmental agencies involved in the overall healthcare system within the 11-county region. Disciplines include health providers, medical first responders, public health officials and emergency management officers, just to name a few.

WellFlorida provides annual county health profiles to help residents and community leaders get an accurate overview of each county’s health status, and how it compares to the state.

The data represents: Alachua, Bradford, Citrus, Columbia, Dixie, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Hernando, Lafayette, Lake, Levy, Marion, Putnam, Sumter, Suwanee and Union. Categories include socioeconomics, maternal and infant care, and healthcare access.
